With Fall and the holidays approaching, it only seemed right to have some fun with a pumpkin sourdough. We mix in some pumpkin puree and light brown sugar to the dough, and then finish it off with some spices. While not overpowering, the lightly sweetened pumpkin comes through beautifully in the soft crumb. The crust of the loaves carries a beautiful reddish-brown color as the sugar adds a little more caramelization through the bake. Enjoy this bread with many pairings, or just let it stand alone by itself as a taste experience.
